What platforms is Sailaway available on?
Sailaway can currently only be played on PC and Mac.
What languages is Sailaway available in?
Sailaway is playable in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Russian & Japanese.

This is it, the above list are the only people that are authorised by us to sell Sailaway and the only places that we see any money from. I purchased a Steam key for the game, how do I redeem it?
You will need to add the key to your Steam account, please visit our Steam information page for step-by-step instructions on how you do this: https://www.sailawaysimulator.com/steam/
As an existing user how do I transfer my account to Steam?
Once you have received your Steam key you will need to first redeem this on your Steam account and download Sailaway via the Steam client, details on how you can do this can be found here: https://www.sailawaysimulator.com/steam/
When you start Sailaway on Steam for the first time you will be presented with the following login screen:
Enter your existing Sailaway account details into the boxes on the right hand side and your Steam account will then be linked to this account and progress should continue as normal.
How do I control my boat?
The mouse is the primary form of control in Sailaway but there are some keyboard keys to be aware of to help make some things easier:
Left Mouse Click + Drag – Look around
Right Mouse Click + Drag – Look around
Left Mouse Click – Select Position / Line
(When a Line is selected) Left Mouse Click + Drag – Pull / Ease Selected Line
(When a Line is selected) Mouse Wheel – Pull / Ease Selected Line
(Over Map) Mouse Wheel – Adjust the map zoom
Q / E – Select Rope / Line
W / S – Pull / Ease Mainsail
Up Arrow / Down Arrow – Pull / Ease Mainsail
W / S (with rope / line selected) – Pull / Ease Selected Line
A / D – Steer Left / Right
Left Arrow / Right Arrow – Steer Left / Right
Page Up / Page Down – Cycle Through Cameras
Left Ctrl + Left Shift + U – Hide UI (will disable mouse look)
Numpad – / Numpad + – Adjust the map zoom when your mouse cursor is over it
Esc – Open Main Menu
How-to find your Steam Log file
IMPORTANT NOTE: Send the Steam log immediately after an error occurs, and before you reload Sailaway to play again. Otherwise, the error log will get overwritten and will not have the error information to help the development team find the source of your problem.
- Right click on Sailaway from your Steam Library
- Select Properties from the drop down menu
- Select Local Files tab and click on “Browse Local Files…”
- Open the Sailaway_Data folder and locate the text file called “output_log.txt”
- Open a Finder window
- On the Menu bar, go to Go > Go to Folder
- In the dialog that comes up, put in “~/Library/Logs/Unity/” and click Go
- Locate the “Player.log” file in that folder
